Day 1

Arrival in Irkutsk. Meeting with the guide and driver. Transfer to Olkhon Island. On the way visit to Ust-Orda village. Excursion to the local museum. Meeting a shaman, discovery of shamanic practices. You will take part in a shamanic rite. Buriat folklore. Lunch at a local café, serving Buryat cuisine. Transfer to Olkhon Island. Along the way you can see Tazheran steppes. Crossing the lake by hovercraft. Transfer by Russian jeeps (UAZ). Arrival to Olkhon Island. Hotel check-in. Walk to Burkhan Cape. Famous and unique – Shamanka rock or Cape Burhan. Named so in antiquity for its sacred meaning, the cape has become the most important shrine of the shamanistic world. Possible banya (for additional price). Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

Breakfast. Landing on UAZ. The beginning of the ice expedition is the intersection of Lake Baikal.
Excursion to the northern point of the island – Cape Khoboy. The route runs along the northern part of the island directly on the ice of Lake Baikal, where you can see its western and eastern sides and enjoy the unforgettable expanses of Lake Baikal. You will encounter ice grottoes, splashes, coastal cliffs, millions of drooping icicles, hummocks formed during pressure and cracks. You will drive through the ice of Lake Baikal in UAZ, see transparent emerald ice, small islands of a fanciful shape, observe the breathtaking distance of the endless shores of Lake Baikal and, finally, enjoy a delicious picnic. Next departure to Ust-Barguzin and cross the largest bay. The places that you will see on this route are not only beautiful, but also energetically filled. They are not without reason empowered. Arrival at the recreation center. Overnight in Ust-Bargusin. Dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast. Departure to Chivyrkuisky gulf. There are 7 islands in the bay. The most famous place in the Chivyrkuy gulf is Zmeinaya Bay, and it is famous for its thermal spring. The water temperature in the pool (equipped with special log cabins) + 36-40 C. Snow melts around the source, but it does not freeze at the same time. Arrival in Ulan-Ude – the capital of Buryatia. Lunch. City tour. You will visit the historical center, Sovetov Square, where the famous monument to Lenin is located (the largest head of Vladimir Ilyich, which fell into the Guinness Book of Records), Revolution Square, Odigitrievsky Cathedral, an architectural monument of the 18th century, the main street of the city – Lenin St. Hotel accommodation.

Day 5

Breakfast. Departure to Ivolginsky Datsan ( located 38 km from the city). The monastery is the center of Russian and spiritual Buddhism. Pilgrims from around the world come to the service-hural of the Ivolginsky Datsan. Back in 1927, Lama Dashi Dorzho Itigelov died, and after 75 years he was recovered from a secret burial. His body appeared to all as if alive, as if in a state of deep meditation. It is really a real miracle to see the body with your own eyes. A spiritual and energetically powerful place that will remain in your memory for many years. Dinner. Departure to the village of Tarbagatai, where the “family” – Old Believers live. People here still preserve their culture, traditional way of life, customs, beliefs and real Russian language. Acquaintance with the Old Believer culture. You will visit the Russian Old Orthodox Church and the Museum of Old Believer Culture. A folklore performance and Russina dinner awaits you at the end of the tour. Return to the hotel.

What should we take for a winter trip?

Participants of the tour must have adequate warm clothes for winter expeditions and additional equipment: a sleeping bag, a down jacket, insulated coveralls, a fleece jacket, a warm hat, 2 pairs of warm socks and gloves, winter boots, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, a personal flashlight, personal first aid kit, a large towel for bathing in the springs.

Is tick vaccination necessary?

It is strongly recommended to have vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis. Ticks are active from early May to mid-July. Although we avoid visiting places of greatest tick-borne activity, insurance of encephalitis is included in the cost of our active tours.
