Let me start with the size and depth of baikal. We were impressed how big and beautiful it is and its colour also cama as a surprise to us.
We very much liked the olkhon and the day trip by uaz to the cape and by boat to stupa.
The accommodation was excellent and we also very much enjoyed meeting the local people.
In listvyanka, our accommodation was also very nice but the best of all was seeing the open air museum of old russian village.
We could spend the whole day there. Very impressive was also seeing the nerpa animal in the aquarium for the first time.
We loved irkutsk and could not imagine how big it is and how many people live there.
We were also very happy to have larisa and maksim and klimentij later on in ulan-ude.
We have seen shaman for the first time in our life and loved the burjatija museum in irkutsk.
Also ulan-ude came as a big surprise, we expected a “village” but the vastness of the city was beyond our expectations and the hotel was superb.

This message i send to you in order to express our gratitude for your excellent preparation, support and arrangement of the travel program in irkutsk and around the lake baikal 11.-21.july 2013.
Our group with 13 persons was delighted about the chosen places, accommodation, guided tours and excursions. Everything was fine and could not be managed better.
We visited the resort “Lesnaya skaska – forest fairy-tale” at the circum-baikal railway. Nice place to relax, embedded in the marvellous nature and forests close to the railway station “Polovinny”.
Splendid hospitality and personal care by raisa, nadya and vladimir.
Another 3 days we spend in the touristic camp “baikal dunes”, appr. 150 km from irkutsk, at the sandy beach. Unforgettable moments with guided tours into the surrounded nature, sauna with jumping into the baikal lake (water temperature 6° celsius), campfire with dmitry playing on the guitar, karaoke night, volleyball and soccer playing with friends from russia. Very good food, lovely cottages.
Highlight of our journey was the trip to the olchon-island in the middle of baikal lake. Boattrip to neighbour island “ogoi” with the shaman temple, passing the cormorant rock, having again sauna direct at the water`s edge of father baikal, meeting with people of buryat origin, one day jeep safari to the cape of choboi with picnic in the nature where the famous ucha fishsoup made by the omul baikal fish was served.
Last day in irkutsk with sightseeing guided by Natalija in excellent german language.
All-in-all a perfect journey. Thank you very much once more.
As i told you, before coming to Siberia we visited sankt petersburg and moscow.
