Day 1

Arrival in Irkutsk. Meeting with the guide. Transfer to the hotel for accommodation.
City tour, 4 hours with visiting the Decembrists’ museum, Kirov Square, enter to Church, Karl Marks Street, Lenin Street. Lunch at the restaurant. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 2

Breakfast. Meeting with the guide. Transfer to Listvyanka. On the way excursion to Taltsy museum. Visit to the museum of Baikal lake with the aquarium of Nerpa, the Baikal Seal. Visit by cable car to Chersky Rock where the beautiful view opens at the south part of lake Baikal and source of the Angara river. The guide will tell you the beautiful legend about Lake Baikal and his daughter, the Angara river. Walking tour at the village Krestovka with visit to the Saint Nicolas church. Lunch at a local restaurant, tasting dishes of lake Baikal fish. Visit to the local market, selling smoked fish and souvenirs. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast. Transfer to pier. Crossing by ferry to Port Baikal. From this (port Baikal) start a fascinating trip by tourist train on Circumbaikal Railway. Beginning of the excursion. During excursion you`ll have several stops to visit galleries, tunnels, to walk in the forest and at lake Baikal shore. The train always goes on Baikal shore and you`ll be able to admire beautiful landscapes of the lake. Lunch on the train. In the evening arrival to Irkutsk. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner.

Day 4

Breakfast. Meet with the guide. Transfer to Olkhon Island. Stop for lunch. Crossing the Lake by the ferry. Transfer by UAZ to the hotel. Arrival to island Olkhon. Accommodation at the hotel. Rest. Excursion to Burkhan Cape. Famous and unique – Shamanka rock or Burhan Cape. Named so in antiquity for its sacred meaning, the cape has become the most important shrine of the shamanistic world. Possible banya (for additional price). Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

Breakfast. All day on Olkhon Island. After breakfast excursion by UASes to Khoboy Cape, the northernmost point of Olkhon.
The trip will allow you to discover the beauty of the Maloye More (Small Sea) and its islets. Walk to the cape. Picnic in the open air. Visit to Uzury, a small hamlet in the east of the island. The picturesque way passes through steppes, sandy beaches, taiga, abandoned villages. Return to Khuzhir. Dinner. Resort overnight in Khuzhir.

Day 6

After breakfast transfer to the pier by UAZ. Crossing the lake by the ferry. Transfer to Irkutsk by bus with stop for lunch. Arrival in Irkutsk.
City tour, 3 hours. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 7

Breakfast. Meet with the guide. Transfer to Ust – Orda village.
Visit to the national Buryat museum. Meeting a shaman, discovery of shamanic practices. You will take part in a shamanic rite. Lunch in a Buryat cafe serving the traditional cuisine: posy, chebureki, Buryat tea etc. Buryat folklor. Transfer to Irkutsk.
Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 8

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport or to the train station. Seeing off

How can I book this tour?

Please, send us the desired travel dates, number of persons, your passport and flight details. We sign a contract with you, and on the basis of the contract we will send you the invoice for the prepayment. You can pay by credit card (VISA or MASTER CARD) and in cash. After we receive the prepayment we will send you the confirmation of the program.

The price is fixed in RUB. The price in EUR/USD changes every day according to the current exchange rate. All the payment details we will send you by e-mail.

When is it necessary to book a tour?

The best time to book a tour is 1-2 months in advance. Please note that almost all the tours require the Early Booking. The earlier you book the tour and pay for it, the better price you will have. June – September (summer) and January – March (winter) is a high season, so you should take care of your vacation in advance. In this case, you will get the best hotels, the best guides and the best programs. Who will meet us in Irkutsk?

Before you arrive in Irkutsk we will already have all your travel details. So you will be met by a company representative (tourist guide) with the sign “BaikalNova” or your “NAME” at the airport (or at the train station).

What's the difference between an electric train and a retro train?

Difference between the trains is that the retro train has a real steam locomotive at the head of the train. This fact makes the train more authentic. The carriages of both trains are almost the same, except that the electric train has two classes of carriage.

What kind of services affect the cost of the program?

The price depends on the hotel you choose. We can offer you homestay, guesthouse, hostel, hotel *** or hotel ****. The price depends on the kind of transfer you prefer (individual or group), accompaniment of the guide throughout the whole program of the tour. We can offer you excursions with a local guide for each part of the Baikal.

What should we take for a winter trip?

Participants of the tour must have adequate warm clothes for winter expeditions and additional equipment: a sleeping bag, a down jacket, insulated coveralls, a fleece jacket, a warm hat, 2 pairs of warm socks and gloves, winter boots, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, a personal flashlight, personal first aid kit, a large towel for bathing in the springs.

Is tick vaccination necessary?

It is strongly recommended to have vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis. Ticks are active from early May to mid-July. Although we avoid visiting places of greatest tick-borne activity, insurance of encephalitis is included in the cost of our active tours.
