Day 1Islands of Maloe More (the Small Sea). Olkhon Island

Breakfast on board the ship
The end of the cruises «Golden Ring of Baikal” and “Mini golden ring of Baikal».
Disembarkation of tourists in the village of Sakhurta (MRS).
After disembarking passengers, departure to one of the bays of the Small Sea.

Embarkation is from 2 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Sakhyurta (MRS) wharf on Maloe More (the Small Sea)
Dinner on board the ship
Having passed the strait the motor ship goes to the Great Baikal, the lake’s middle basin with a maximum depth of 1400 meters, and passes along picturesque western lake shore to the south.

If the water is calm sightseeing stop at the white marble rock “Sagan-Zaba” and viewing rock paintings (petroglyphs) of III-V centuries AD are possible on the way. The academician Okladnikov says: “petroglyphs of Sagan-Zaba are the real pearl of ancient culture and art of the peoples of Eastern Siberia. They are the most complex of all known rock paintings on the entire territory from Ural to the Pacific ocean due to their composition, writing and diversity of scenes.”

Arrival in Sennaya Bay which is a cordon of Baikal National Park is in the evening. In the evening one can visit Russian banya located on the shore of Lake Baikal.
Supper and overnight stay on board the motor ship.

Day 2Pearl of Baikal

As an option one can have a walking tour along Baikal shore from Sennaya Bay to Peschanaya Bay (6 kilometers). The excursion route takes place along the picturesque mountain path passing along the Primorsky Range. Peschanaya Bay is famous for its stilted trees, magnificent sea views from the cliffs surrounding the bay and a great sandy beach. The motor ship will wait in the bay. Dinner on board the ship
Passage to Circum-Baikal railway (CBR).
Circum-Baikal Railway is a unique historical and cultural complex, which includes monuments of history, technology, engineering, nature and absolutely unique landscapes. Constructive works and civilian objects left by past cultural epoch the most directly touch with geocomplexes.
Circum-Baikal Railway surpassed all the built railway lines in the world by the number of various kinds of objects per 1 km of track and the difficulty of their implementation. It’s considered to be the most beautiful railway among all the others in the world. There are about 39 tunnels, 500 grooves, culverts, bridges and viaducts including 6 grooves, 15 stone culverts, 411 small metal bridges and so forth on the railway.

Day 3Farewell to Baikal

Breakfast on board the motor ship.
Passage to Listvyanka, located at the source of the Angara River, after breakfast (2 hours). The end of the cruise.
At 12:00 p.m. disembarkation on the main wharf of Listvyanka opposite the biggest hotel on Lake Baikal – the hotel “Mayak”.
The distance of the voyage is 20-30 kilometers, travel time is about 1-2 hours.

What should we take for a winter trip?

Participants of the tour must have adequate warm clothes for winter expeditions and additional equipment: a sleeping bag, a down jacket, insulated coveralls, a fleece jacket, a warm hat, 2 pairs of warm socks and gloves, winter boots, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, a personal flashlight, personal first aid kit, a large towel for bathing in the springs.

Is tick vaccination necessary?

It is strongly recommended to have vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis. Ticks are active from early May to mid-July. Although we avoid visiting places of greatest tick-borne activity, insurance of encephalitis is included in the cost of our active tours.
